What SOPly does

SOPly is a web-based tool that converts screen recordings into standard operating procedure (SOP) documents using AI. This policy explains what data we handle and how.

How your recordings are processed

When you record your screen or upload a video, the following happens:

Video frame extraction happens entirely in your web browser. Your video file is never uploaded to any server.

To generate the SOP, extracted screenshots are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, via a secure API. Anthropic retains API inputs for up to 30 days for trust and safety purposes. Your data is not used to train AI models. No recording data is stored on SOPly's own servers.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details. Stripe collects your name, email address, and payment information to process your subscription. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment data.

What we store

When you create an account, your email address and name are stored securely by Supabase (our authentication provider). When you purchase a Pro plan, we receive your name and email address from Stripe to manage your subscription. We do not store your recordings or any screenshots processed through SOPly. Generated SOPs may be saved to your account library if you choose to save them.

Cookies and local storage

SOPly uses your browser's local storage to remember your Pro subscription status and session preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

Third-party services

SOPly uses the following third-party services:

Anthropic (Claude API) - processes screenshots to generate SOPs. Stripe - processes payments. Supabase - handles user authentication and account management. Netlify - hosts the website and serverless functions.

Your rights

You can request deletion of any personal data we hold by emailing us. Since we store minimal data (only your name and email from Stripe), this is straightforward.
